Position Description:

Experienced software developer to design and implement dynamic front-end web applications (and possibly web services) in a deadline intensive environment. Applications and services must be flexible, extensible, robust, and highly scaleable. Applicant should have a deep understanding of modern dynamic web application architecture and web standards. Applicant should have a strong understanding of object-oriented design and full lifecycle software development processes including requirements analysis, technical design, scoping, and estimating. Strong overall communication and documentation skills are required. Applicant should be able to lead and participate in both technical and non-technical discussions. Applicant should be highly motivated, able to self-manage, and able to work well in a team environment.

Qualifications:

Expert AJAX, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5

- Expertise with modern web development technologies and paradigms

- Expertise with object-oriented development and design patterns

- Excellent troubleshooting skills - Good understanding of social media

- Proven track record of technical innovation

Highly desirable:

- Experience with high-profile media websites - Expertise with one or more server side languages (Python, Java, etc.)

- Knowledge of other languages (PHP, Lua, Scala, Ruby, etc)

- Expertise working with relational and structured data - Experience with NoSQL DBs (CouchDB, MongoDB)

Interpersonal/Team Skills:

Excellent communication skills. Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams.

Experience: 5+ years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or technology/engineering.
