Job Description

Front Office Assistant

Schedule appointments for imaging examinations on patients by answering phone calls and/ or receiving faxes. Requires accurate entry of patient information into scheduling data base and tasking verificaitons department to pre-certify exam with patient's insurance. Obtain and keep track of all pertinent paperwork at time of scheduling and well as when patient arrives for exam. Put together daily schedules and all paperwork to ensure technologist has accurate information in order to do proper exam on patient.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Schedule patient appointments for imaging exams by:

2. Answer phones and accept scheduling calls from referring physician offices and patients. Interface and build relationships with referring office staff.

3. Enter all accurate patient information into scheduling database

4. Send patient's insurance information to verifier for pre-certification

5. Obtain all pertinent paperwork for exam, such as Rx and authorizations and put together with daily schedules. Confirm appointments by phone for next day's schedule.

6. Greet patients as they arrive for their exams and obtain necessary on-site paperwork such as insurance cards, screening forms, and consent forms.

7. Be familiar with medical terminology, imaging exams and diagoses.

High school diploma or general education degree.

One to three years experience in scheduling appointments for doctor's office. Imaging center scheduling experience preferred.
