Functional Analyst - Model N
supports the Model N Commercial suite of applications - includes chargeback’s, rebates, contracts and pricing, admin fees, integration with JDE, Hyperion, EDI, and Reporting. Primary role is to be the primary source of support for the user community.
Responsibilities:.
• Work with all areas of business support and technical infrastructure to deliver functionality.
• Support the user base and implement functionality to support financial business processes
• Helpdesk task master- first point of contact for user questions/issues. Respond to user questions regarding application use - Desk Side Support
• Help test and implement fixes provided by Model N
• Develop and perform Test Cases and Scenarios for the system, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
• Reproduce and diagnose application issues
• Identify and verify data, integration, SOP, policy, process issues
• Assist and coordinate with MN customer support
• Coordinate service patch/ new release testing and deployment
• Gather functional requirements for reporting and translate into technical specifications for reports developer
• Coordinate all activities between IT, Model N, customer support, professional services and third party consultants
• Execute light SQL and or queries in the system to assist in identifying and resolving issues. Be able to create simple dumps of data and learn database design.
• Requires solid understanding of Model N modules from a user perspective
• Perform Business/Technical gap analysis and translate into functional requirement specification for developers and/or Model N configurators
• Serve as a main liaison to other enterprise Business Systems (JDE, Hyperion, EDI, etc.) Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration • Preferred MBA with concentration in any of: Information Systems, Accounting, Finance. • 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting full scale Revenue Management systems. Model N HIGHLY preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: SQL (Structured Query Language) • Oracle DBMS, PL/SQL • Reporting Tools such as Cognos, Crystal Reports • Experience designing and implementing system interfaces
MANAGEMENT: • Be able to run projects using the department’s methods and tools for project management • Be able to coordinate communication and escalation of issues with the vendor – Model N. • Flexibility to work on other projects or different functional areas • Identify areas of concern and communicate pertinent information to teammates and Manager • Solicit and respond to client satisfaction feedback • Follow guidelines and methodologies, but make adjustments depending upon situation • Prioritize and track personal and group workload; plan and perform day-to-day activities according to priority, schedule, and budget • Be available during off-hours to support monthly financial close and/or production support problems
Software experience: • Model N entire suite of applications. • Oracle 10G • Microsoft Windows 2000 desktop operating system • Microsoft Excel, Access, Project, Visio and Word • SQL (Structured Query Language), Toad
