The Team:
A career on the ESRI Professional Services and Consulting team provides you the opportunity to collaborate with our customers to support innovative database and applications development, SOA, and enterprise software solutions. The variety of project work enables you to use your software development, database engineering, GIS expertise, and project management skills in a number of growing markets such as natural resources, commercial, government, utilities, and defense. Most positions are based at our headquarters in Redlands, California and our regional office in Washington, D.C.; however, opportunities are also available in other locations.
Responsibilities
Work in a team environment with customers, consultants, project managers, and release managers to provide programming support for custom, cutting-edge ArcGIS projects.
Assist in the design and implement standards of framework data models, metadata, content, accuracy, quality standards, data production systems, and portals.
As a member of project teams, assist in the management of contract deliverables through the application of planning, tracking, change control, quality control, and risk management techniques.
Work directly with clients on requirements definition and establishing a vision for using GIS within their company.
Collaborate with the ESRI marketing, sales, and business development teams to develop Professional Services opportunities.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
Requirements
Bachelors or masters in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field, depending on position level.
A minimum of three years of software development experience.
U.S. citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
Competency with Oracle 9i/10g (Spatial), SQL Server, MySQL, and/or Microsoft Access.
Experience in data modeling, database development, and enterprise database architecture.
Demonstrated programming understanding of COM, C++, C#, VB.NET.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills for individual interactions and in group settings.
Recommended Qualifications
Familiarity with GIS related technologies including ESRI software.
Experience developing with ArcObjects.
Experience with other industry-standard technologies such as XML, Web services, application. servers, Web servers, and/or SQL performance tuningSQL performance tuning.
Experience with software estimating, planning, and progress tracking.
