GLOBAL SR QUALITY ENGINEER

Crane Energy Flow Solutions, a global valve manufacturer, distributor and service provider, has an immediate opening for a Sr Quality Engineer at the Shenandoah, Texas, facility.

 

Basic Function:

To assist Global Quality Director in implementing and maintaining effective quality assurance and quality control systems to meet British, European, American standards and other Quality System requirements across all Global Energy sites and key suppliers.

 

This position is responsible for developing & maintaining internal quality systems to ensure safety & conformance to required quality standards.

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

·         Assist Global Quality Director to direct and implement a Global Quality Assurance program that meets or exceeds industry standards across multiple sites globally.

·         Compile/review technical & performance specifications including the introduction of control plans, quality standards & inspection procedures globally.

·         Apply the quality toolset including FMEA, IQ, OQ, PQ, GR&R/measurement system analysis, control plans, process verification/validation plans, validation protocol development, Cpk, Cp, SPC, hard gaging applications, computer-based inspection methods, operator work instructions, DOE, process data analysis, and DMAIC

·         Assist manufacturing sites with the interpretation of quality requirements including verification/validation planning and execution, first production run requirements, problem resolution and implementation of effective corrective action

·         Work with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)

 

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • A relevant BS degree (e.g. mechanical, metallurgical, or manufacturing engineering) from a reputed instituiton of higher learning, plus a minimum of  5 years relevant practical Q.A./inspection experience in an engineering environment providing Quality Engineering type support  leading to improvements by applying lean/six sigma tools
  • Knowledge and experience of working to ISO: 9001 – 2000/2008 including writing policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Ability to interact effectively and partner with people at all levels; extremely skilled at developing and working with and through teams; a collaborative hands-on team player results driven and motivated
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions
  • Must have excellent computer skills including MS Office & MRP / ERP

Desirable Criteria

  • Six Sigma experience including a Six Sigma black belt certification
  • Knowledge and experience of working to PED
  • Hands-on approach - resilient and tenacious
  • Qualified Internal Systems Auditor
