GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTION:
•The senior graphic designer is responsible for concepting the layout and design for a wide range of branded product and company communications. Working as a member of the creative team, the senior graphic designer is expected to generate their own original ideas in the form of advertising campaigns, logo design, web content, and branded merchandising as well as translate and transform the ideas of others into deliverables driven by deadlines. The senior graphic provides leadership in creative team concept sessions.
•The experienced senior graphic designer must quickly develop a thorough understanding/working knowledge of the company’s products and services and maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace. Must stay abreast of cultural trends to ensure up-to-date, relevant, impactful branding and marketing communications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Conceptualize and brainstorm innovative campaigns and tactics.
•Generate creative design for web sites, banner ads, emails, videos, and other media.
•Provide design leadership and oversight to both internal and external resources.
•Creates concepts that are extendable into campaigns and synchronize extensions across other collateral.
•Partner with art director, writers and information owners on concept, design and content organization.
•Work on various national and regional promotional initiatives.
•Work within brand style guide.
•Establish project management and work planning methodology for the design area.
•Build and manage outside relationships with a variety of design firms, illustrators, suppliers, etc., to expand resource base.
•Maintain in-house design files and portfolio.
•Generate web ready pdf files of literature.
•Retouch, color balance, and create clipping paths for images and graphics as needed.
•Supervise and coordinate photo shoots and purchase stock photography when applicable.
•Stay abreast on technology and interactive marketing trends.
•Partner with Creative Services to prioritize workload, identify potential capacity issues and determine strategies and solutions.



Job Experience:
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
•BA in Graphic Art, design.
•Ability to develop creative briefs to clarify design tasks.
•Thorough working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop on PC platform.
•Industry experience in the branded consumer products arena. Ideally has financial industry experience.
•Design experience in the following mediums: advertising, point of sale, collateral, sales support materials, trade show and exhibit, and web.
•Excellent design sense; ability to grasp the subtle relationships between branding and visual design, to assure appropriate consistency across mediums, to contribute to our positioning and differentiation in the marketplace.
•Strong type and design skills.
•Effective team leadership skills.
•Knowledge of printing processes and production a plus.
