As part of the centralized Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) Finance Analysis team and under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for managing Finance support efforts during the transition of new GWS-Americas accounts, renewals/expansions of existing accounts, and lost customer demobilizations.  This includes the standard solutioning & development of the financial systems, integration and mentoring of the permanent site Finance team member(s).  Ensures processes are in compliance with GAAP and are properly documented.  Interfaces with other GWS headquarter functions and departments to ensure the financial setups are aligned.  Manages and develops a team of Finance Transition Managers.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Structures the Finance transition team with appropriate processes & procedures to ensure a consistent and standard approach to the transition process.

  2. Designs & implements a standard baselining process for new customers.

  3. With input from other functional areas, design and implement the financial system setups using a standard approach.

  4. Facilitates the coordination of Finance transition team for new accounts, existing account renewals/expansions and account closeouts.  This includes coordinating with applicable functional experts to integrate all functional areas with the Finance module and to ensure good communications and field support during the transition process.

  5. Utilizing standard templates and action plans, facilitates the management and implementation of finance transition plans.

  6. Coordinate Finance system changes with Building Efficiency (BE) IT departments.

  7. Coordinates the review of transition costs with Operations Transition Managers to ensure accuracy of transition budgets, costs, and variance reporting and analysis.

  8. Prepares Capital Appropriation Request for capitalization of transition costs.

  9. Ensures financial solutions sold to the customer are SOX and JCI Internal Audit compliant prior to implementing them.  Redesign the solution for areas of concern.

  10. Document the necessary training modules for new Finance Analysis team members and implement standard on-boarding training program.  Trains & mentors permanent site Finance manager and/or personnel during the Transition.

  11. Provides mentoring and coaching to Finance transition team managers.  May give work direction and lead other transition managers on larger transition projects.

  12. Communicates with JCI functional areas as well as the external customer regarding the on-going status of the Finance transition requirements.

  13. Conducts post-transition review and evaluation sessions with site Finance manager and Customer Business Group Field Financial Manager.  Recommends & implements appropriate process changes based upon results of review.

  14. Performs other job-related duties as requested.


BA/BS Degree in Accounting required; advanced degrees (e.g. MBA, CMA or CPA) desirable. Minimum of eight to ten years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least one year of progressive management and supervisory responsibility. Broad knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and related internal control structures for financial accounting and reporting systems and processes. Superior interpersonal written and verbal communication skills are required. Must demonstrate the ability to plan and execute projects and a high degree of effectiveness in team leadership.  Frequent travel (50%) required.  Ability to work effectively in a teaming and matrix environment with multiple and changing tasks and priorities.  Must have excellent project management skills as demonstrated through experience.  Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office tools is required. Knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion and/or other relational databases is a plus. Commitment to participative management style and maintaining a quality team environment. Experience in the selection, development and succession planning of finance team positions, plus a proven ability to set strategies, objectives and goals and achieve expected staff development results.
