Role Summary/Purpose
The Rotor Analysis Leader - Gas Turbine Rotor will form detailed analyses and design studies. Types of analyses include 2D/3D Finite Element stress analysis, non-linear analysis, LCF (cyclic and hold-time), HCF, creep and crack growth.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead projects, guide and mentor less-experienced engineers as they develop expertise in the structural analysis field. Establish team schedules to define and deliver quality results on time Participate in establishing technology needs, and define roadmaps to close gaps Drive technology that will improve the quality and competitiveness of GE’s offerings Focus would include, but not be limited to, high-end analysis methods, advanced material understanding and testing, component and feature testing, inspection and analysis validation Define and own analysis methods and contribute to analysis templates and design practices Create and Maintain relationships across GE Businesses to share methods and best practices Leverage personal capabilities by effectively leading domestic and global team members to contribute to projects
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Structural EngineeringMinimum 8 years of advanced structural analysis experience Minimum 8 years of CAD and FEM meshing experienceGreen belt certified (GE employees only) Additional Eligibility Qualifications
