General Clerk

Job Description:

The General Clerk is an individual who functions in a clerical support role with following essential responsibilities:

Actively greet patients, families and co-workers, smile, make eye contact, speak clearly in a friendly manner.

Answer phones promptly, direct calls to the appropriate personnel; take messages.

Accurately schedules appointments for patients.

Archive charts in a timely manner.

Maintains the integrity of the medical record for completeness that includes dividers, archiving, accurate data, dates and providers.

Files diagnostic reports and related patient information in the medical record.

Follows-up with appropriate department to retrieve reports.

Track charts going out and coming into the facility.

Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel


Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma
Ability to read, write and understand written English words and sentences.
Proficiency in other languages a plus.
Must have prior clerical experience
