Position Summary:
Wawa Store Operations is recruiting for the position of General Manager In Training. In this position, the selected candidate will perform the following:
Principal Responsibilities
- Supports and follows all Wawa safety and security initiatives.
- Provides a pleasant shopping experience for all customers, responds to customer complaints or inquiries and solicits customer feedback and input as necessary.
- Receives training and performs duties in each of the functional areas of the store, including customer relations, store level safety, associate training, accounting functions, product handling, ordering and security.
- Learns store operation functions and company policies and practices that affect each phase of the business.
- Participates in on the job training experiences, including operating various shifts and performing required store duties under the tutelage of a store manager.
- Receives training in management skills necessary to perform as a store manager.
- Attends company sponsored training classes.
- Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of performance for store manager duties.
- Devises personal developmental plans and accomplishes them in an appropriate time frame.
- Supervise the performance of 1-10 associates when serving as shift supervisor.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree in business or related area preferred, or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exhibits team building and team leadership qualities
- Customer service oriented
- Willingness to accept responsibility
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Prefers a fast paced, rapidly changing work environment
- Reliable transportation
- 46.75 hours per week, paid hourly.
- Availability to include all three shifts, weekends and holidays. H
- Hired and/or promoted by the area supervisor.
