About the Job

Privately owned general construction & design build firm in North East Texas is seeking a General Manager with proven skills and experience in the strategic management of construction operations.  The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations including planning, directing and executing the long term strategic objectives of the company.  Requirements include 10 + years of experience providing strategic leadership within the construction industry as well as strong communication, personnel management and organization skills.  A high degree of problem recognition and resolution skills are also required along with proven financial analysis and business development skills.  This position will be responsible for all aspects of the project management process including business development, personnel and financial management of the process.  An emphasis on design build construction projects and a broad experience base including federal and private projects is preferred.  The ideal candidate would excel in a fast paced and growing entrepreneur environment.  This position offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.


 


Specific Responsibilities Include:


 



  • Maintaining the appropriate organizational structure required to meet operational objectives by actively participating in external recruitment efforts and the development of existing staff
  • Provide strategic leadership by actively developing internal and external relationships which foster a productive working environment
  • Development and execution of the company's business development and sales strategy including planning, monitoring and maintaining the appropriate mix of project back log
  • Monitoring and maintaining optimum project performance from all facets including safety, quality, and financial performance using quantifiable metrics
  • Management and allocation of company resources needed to fulfill project requirements including capital assets, personnel and cash
  • Management of operations personnel including periodic performance reviews
  • Maintaining appropriate levels of communication across all levels of the organization
  • Participation in process development to ensure company to company operations are streamlined and efficiently executed
  • Monitoring and maintaining the accuracy and quality of project information and reporting including budgets, schedules and cost data
  • Establishing and maintaining operational goals and objectives that ensure success of strategic business objectives
