General Manager

Casella Waste Systems, Inc., one of its northeast’s leaders in integrated waste services, is accepting qualified applications for a General Manager to work in the Northeastern footprint.  Qualified applicants must have a minimum of five years division management experience in the solid waste industry, along with a BA/BS degree in business, or equivalent experience. Experience with marketing, operations, transportation, communications, financial (P&L and budgeting), and leadership skills, with a demonstrated track record for success are required. A complete understanding, adherence and commitment to Casella’s Core Values, Environmental and Safety Programs are essential.  The ideal candidate will possess a dynamic personality, be open to change and committed to personal improvement as a leader in a professional business environment.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

• Instill a customer-focus mindset within the Division that will differentiate Casella from its competitors
• Provide Resource Optimization solutions to our customers that drive revenue growth and differentiation within the market
• Provide leadership to the Operations Team to facilitate fluid communications between operations and maintenance
• Meet all applicable environmental compliance standards and prepare and submit all required compliance reporting according to established company deadlines.
• Facilitate communication between Operations and Maintenance
• Provide leadership to the Maintenance and Operations Managers to motivate employees and maximize retention through timely and meaningful performance appraisals
• Personally lead the sales training and marketing initiative within the division
• Maintain division records consistent with company and applicable state and federal standards
• Utilize company information technology systems to maximize and monitor division performance: including Khalix, Kronos, and Soft-Pak
