Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Product Application Engineer is responsible for level two technical applications support in designing NXP’s products into the customer’s end equipment for assigned Applications and Market Segments. Supports the Field Applications Engineer (FAE) as the main technical interface to the Market Segment Accounts based on a particular application expertise. Provides feedback on the customer’s product and technology requirements and the competitive activity at assigned accounts. The PAE will be closely linked with the Product Lines that support their assigned Market Segment. PAE will provide feedback and direction to company roadmaps and technology developments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To be the primary support engineer for system and applications support for your assigned portfolio.
• The PAE will maintain a Product Line expertise and be the primary technical interface between the Product Line and the regional sales and application support organization.
• The PAE will develop and maintain a close working relationship with their Product Marketing Engineer and the Field Application Engineers and Field Sales Engineers
• Work with the FAEs/ FSEs to support our customer’s design centers to support the design in efforts of our Logic Product Portfolio.
• Support the Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) in product training programs for our customers, our field teams and our distribution partners.
• Develop and provide Technical collateral for our Marketing personnel including but not limited to Application Notes, White Papers, Block Diagrams, Customer Presentations and Training modules
• Support trade shows and technical society meetings as needed
• Support customization of demo boards for Logic Products to show the customer the best performance in their specific application.
• Support the alignment of our product, packaging and technology roadmaps with our customers requirements and work with our internal organization to ensure we will develop the appropriate future products
• Competitive Awareness. We need to be fully aware of our competitor’s technical advantages and disadvantages so we can formulate the correct opportunity strategies.
• Must have strong communication and presentation skills to drive communication with relevant stake holders
• Must have Ability to perform lab characterization & problem solving
• Knowledge and Use of simulation tools for circuit design
• PCB layout skills to optimize power density, thermal & EMC performance
Requirements
- BSEE. MSEE preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in design engineering and field application engineering.
- Prefer work experience in support of design and application support of General Purpose Logic Products.
- Travel: 20-30%
