Our Orange County (Costa Mesa, CA) office is looking for a Geotechnical Project Engineer to support excavation activities and serve as Construction Quality Control on large projects. Will consider locating the position in San Antonio, TX.
Brief Description of Responsibilities:
- Position will oversee excavation activities, field engineering, scheduling, quality control, oversight of subcontractors and CAPE field teams on large projects.
- This position may perform technical work; develop contract reports, and design documents (drawings, specifications, cost estimates);
- Provide onsite technical assistance; report writing;
- O&M development as applicable; and conduct contractor submittal reviews;
- Ensure assigned projects meet quality requirements as outlined in Quality SOP.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
- A minimum requirement of four (4) years of experience in geotechnical field of expertise consisting of design and installation of excavation support that meet and if necessary, exceed OSHA requirements (29 CFR 1926 subparts P and S);
- Geotechnical studies, field experience in subsurface exploration in support of geotechnical designs and at least 2 years of construction experience;
- Eight (8) years of geotechnical experience is desirable.
- Candidate’s experience must reflect full compliance with the OSHA standards.
Minimum Education & Training Requirements: (including required registrations, certifications, if any):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Geotechnical, Structural, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical)
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in at least one state; capable of registration in other states.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to travel, and perform and/or oversee site activities.
- Ability to use safety equipment.
- Candidates must successfully pass standard CAPE pre employment physical, drug and background screens.
