About the Job

Fantastic health care organization is looking for Medical Assistants with great working experience? We are looking for registered or certified MA's with at least 1 to 2 years of on the job experience. We have a fantastic opportunity within several of our well established health care clinics on the central coast including, Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Templeton and Atascadero. These open positions will offer a full time schedule with day-time hours and great compensation. Working experience and great customer service skills are required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are always a plus.

Here are some of the exciting duties our medical assistants perform on a daily basis:

*Maintains clean and safe patient areas, follows safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
*Assists in maintaining patients charts in a neat, accurate and organized manner.
*Acts as an interpreter when necessary between patient and provider.
*Make referrals to health education and other in-house services post assessment.
*Performs any additional duties as assigned by supervisor on a temporary or infrequent basis.
*Performs medical assistant duties as listed on Skills Assessment Check Off List.
*Administers medications via oral, parental routes, and topical routes.
*Refers to nursing drug handbook prior to administering unfamiliar medication and confirms dosage with licensed staff.
*Performs preliminary assessment and determines need for immunizations, lead screening, and other health maintenance recommendations.
*Performs in-house laboratory tests (urinalysis, pregnancy test, strep, etc.) Observes manufacturer instructions and ensures quality controls have been performed each day.
*Conducts referral and tracking for routine visits and referral, and notes tracking in medical record and referral log.
*Assists the receptionist as necessary in the intake of patients, scheduling appointments, data entry, verifying patient information, etc.
*Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults or geriatrics.)
*Demonstrates knowledge of domestic violence, child and dependent abuse protocols.
*Demonstrates adherence to and observes all safety policies and procedures, inclusive of infection control rules and regulations.
*Maintains and adheres to confidentiality, and privileged communications (patient, employee and corporation)
