Manufacturing Engineer - Leader of Excellence

This highly visible position, located in a midwestern glass manufacturing facility, reports directly to the Plant Manager and requires a highly qualified individual who can drive process and operational improvements.  Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident with an engineering degree.

Responsibilities will include:

Process Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering responsibility for a glassmaking process from the hot end to the finished product.

The use of FMEA, Six Sigma Logic Analysis, Standardized Process Set-ups, Root Cause Determination and Correction, and Statistical Process Control to optimize and improve the glassmaking process.

Successful Candidate will possess: 

BS degree in Engineering and 8+ years successful experience in glass manufacturing. 

Thorough knowledge of state-of the-art glassmaking glassmaking processes.

Complete familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and the Lean Enterprise Process. 

Successful hands-on experience in the use of FMEA, Six Sigma Logic Analysis, Standardized Process Set-Ups, Root Cause Determination and Correction, and SPC.
