Job Description
Global SIOP & Planning Manager
Position Summary:
The position reports to the Director of Supply Chain and is responsible for the ongoing execution of the Global BPP SIOP process and Planning functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the BPP SIOP process that is tailored to the specific needs of each business taking into consideration planning approaches such as make to stock, make to order, engineer to order, assemble to order, and non stock standard to optimize customer service levels while minimizing inventory requirements. Develop and implement metrics to provide regular feedback on the effectiveness of our SIOP process including but not limited to schedule execution, forecast accuracy, customer service levels, and supply chain lead times across the various BPP operations.
- Direct global planning functions by reviewing and executing material requirements required to determine the proper quantity and due dates for manufactured items using MPS and MRP modules in Oracle to meet customer demands
- Requires effective communication skills and system knowledge to inform the organization of critical planning and scheduling events that help to enable Customer Service, Product Management, Production and other departments the ability to accurately communicate, plan and schedule resources that align with supporting our customer requirements.
- Understand the mechanics of MPS, MRP, and the associated effects that supply date management have on the accuracy of available to promise (ATP) results.
- Prepare reports as directed to aid in various material and production decisions and lead the monthly SIOP meeting. Track, monitor and report schedule compliance results.
- Manage the excess and obsolete inventory process initiating planning and procurement controls to minimize our exposure to these inventory types
- Embrace Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and utilize it to drive continuous improvement across the business.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of a BS/BA degree
- 5+ years experience with global SIOP, demand planning, production scheduling, and forecasting
- Experience with a global multi-site organization
- Understanding of supply chain functions and how they relate to the SIOP process
- Working knowledge of ERP business systems (preferably Oracle) and MS office
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and cGMP
- Excellent organizational, documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across multiple facilities and reporting lines
- APICS planning certifications (preferred)
