Position
Description

Support
NASA Ames in completing the NEPA process prior to taking any action that could
have an adverse environmental impact; limit the choice of reasonable
alternatives; or affect known or potential historic/ cultural resources or
sensitive populations.

Support
compliance with NEPA, including possible actions abroad (EO 12114). Participate
in Agency-wide and Center-wide meetings and teleconferences. Support the
development of policies and procedures. Support awareness activities and
training. Support research and studies, provide advice and comment to
applicants and proponents, Resident Agencies and tenant partners. Coordinate
interagency and public notice and comment. Maintain Administrative Records. Facilitate
associated permit applications and disclosures. Facilitate preparation of
Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements and EO 12114 reports
and associated studies and surveys. Monitor and evaluate implementation of
mitigation, gather data, prepare reports and briefings. Support implementation
of corrective actions.  Maintain Program
mailing list and support distribution of documents.

Required
Skills

10
years experience in environmental investigations/assessments and the NEPA
process. Good written and verbal communications skills and interpersonal
skills. Experience in management of Natural Resources (wildlife, plants,
ecosystems) Programs preferred.

Must be
able to pass a security background check.

Education

BA/BS
in Biology, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Policy, related discipline,
or equivalent experience.
