Grants and Government Relations Manager


The Grants and Government Relations Manager at Learning Care Group will coordinate the preparation, written documentation and submission of grant proposals.  This position will also ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.   Additionally, this position will develop and execute strategies for capturing funding on the state and federal level and managing of the Grants and Funded Programs team.

Essential Functions: 
 
  • Conducts research to identify new funding opportunities, follows-up on prospects and collaborates with staff from inception to completion when grant opportunities are identified.
  • Develops a comprehensive grant program including a deadline calendar, revenue budget, and written proposals.
  • Serve as the initial contact in for proposal preparation, submission, tracking and award notices.
  • Oversee all aspects of the grant process.
  • Collaborate with other Departments as needed to develop a cohesive Grant management system and successful implementation of programs.
  • Maintains database of proposals and grant activity.
  • Stays current with local and national government agencies for opportunities to expand grant potential and fund streams, including successful capture and execution of funds.
  • Provide training internally for any grant related issues.
  • Formulate and present new programs and funding concepts to corporate executive leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
     


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in a grant related program such as program development, writing, budgeting, or strategic planning.
  • At least five (5) years demonstrated experience managing successful grant funded programs.
  • At least five(5) years experience writing grants.
  • Strong leadership experience with at least five (5) years supervisory experience in a great related area.
  • Proven ability to work with limited direction and lead a team towards common budgetary goals. 
  • Working knowledge of government funding process.
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment.
  • Previous budgeting experiencing is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the presentation skills.
  • Strong team player with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to act as a steward for the company.
  • Proficient computer skills, including excellent internet research ability. 
  • Previous for-profit grant experience preferred.
  • Previous early childhood education experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 20%-30%
