Grant Writer

Responsibilities:

Core Activities

• Primary author for Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants and other grant proposals
• Work with scientific staff to design Phase I and Phase II scientific work plans for SBIR and other grant proposals
• Write commercialization plans for grant funded product concepts
• Assist in scientific manuscript and abstract preparations 

Additional Activities

• Meet with scientific teams to optimize research plans
• Research and identify appropriate funding sources using electronic and print mediums
• Research new clinical applications of Affinergy’s peptide linkers
• Research unmet clinical needs and current business markets for proposed products

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years experience with scientific writing such as NIH grant proposals, manuscripts, abstracts, etc. 
• M. D. or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Chemistry or related field
• Background in an Orthopedic or Cellular lab a plus
• Deadline oriented
• Experience with analytical methods
• Ability to work on projects of a multidisciplinary nature
• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, organized, and responsible
