Background


 


Radiation Monitoring Devices, Inc., located in Watertown, MA, is a scientific research company devoted to the development of new radiation detector and systems technologies.   The primary customers for this research are government agencies such as the NIH and DOE that allocate research grants to small companies, encouraging the development of new technologies that may lead to commercial products.   Our growth has created the opportunity for us to add a Grants Administrator to staff.


 


Responsibilities


 


The responsibilities of the Grants Administrator include providing the following support to the Research Department:


 



·        Draft sub-award and consultant agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and related documentation, with project collaborators.


·        Working closely with the Principal Investigators, ensure that all agency solicitation guidelines are followed during proposal preparation. Edit and proofread technical proposals, as well as compile, organize, and upload proposal applications to agency sites, including Grants.gov. 


·         Comply with award and contract terms, including the timely submission of project reports and deliverables to technical monitors. Proofread and edit the reports prior to submission.


·         Contribute to the development of databases used to organize information.


·         Provide administrative support to the Grants Administration Manager, Group Leaders, and Research Department. 


 


 


Who Should Apply


 


The position is ideal for a professional federal contracts or grants administrator, legal administrator or paralegal with two or more years of experience who is seeking a position with opportunity for growth. You should apply if you desire full time work and meet all or most of the following criteria:


·        Skilled in self-organization and time management: must plan and organize to meet deadlines. 


·        Must be comfortable taking initiative to interact with others, and remind and cajole researchers to meet their deadlines.


·        While committed to team efforts, must be willing to act independently.  A strong sense of personal responsibility for deadlines and work product is a must.


·        Must write clearly, including grammar, spelling and punctuation.  Must be a skilled proofreader and editor, with strong attention to detail.


·        Mastery of Microsoft Office: all elements are used in contract administration, including Access.


·        Skill working online and with databases: all proposals and contract deliverables are submitted electronically.


·        College or higher degree is necessary.   Background in sponsored programs contract administration is desirable, as well as legal experience.


·        Familiarity with federal contracting is a significant plus.
