EDUCATION: · Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or equivalent in education and related experience.

EXPERIENCE: · 5 - 8 years in-depth experience in a creative environment on Macintosh platform with emphasis on concept and design.

SKILLS: · A proven high degree of conceptualization and typography skills. · Strong print design/production skills. · In-depth knowledge of Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, and other publishing software. · In-depth knowledge of Macintosh O/S and knowledge of PC O/S. · Solid understanding of single to multi-color print production. · Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting required deadlines. · 4D or similar database experience. · Ability to problem-solve daily technical issues. · Ability to identify and distinguish color. · Ability to accurately proofread and spell. · Reading, writing and comprehension skills. · On-press proof approval experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Design and produce marketing collateral from initial concept to final output. · Create, develop and update electronic art files for brochures, installation instructions, data sheets, labels, and other marketing and sales support materials. · Retouch, composite and/or enhance photographs and line art to meet design objectives. · Assist designers/freelancers with illustration support. · Interface with customers and co-workers to determine design and project objectives. · Coordinate and attend photography sessions to produce photos for design projects. · Interface with printing vendors to review job specifications and to provide clarification on electronic preparation, color specification and related graphics. · Responsible for performing press proof approval and on-press customer approval of printed material. · Prepare materials for translation into requested languages and manage process with vendor and field checkers. · Proof final output against initial requirements to check for accuracy and consistency. · Perform weekly file organization and maintenance on assigned work station and archives. · Create job tickets, track, and update jobs using 4D Database. · Respond to daily art requests by supplying art and support to customers. · Remain current with emerging Macintosh platform trends, software and hardware. · Abide by department/corporate standards, based on established processes and standards. |
