Job Description

The role of Graphic Designer supports the functions of the marketing and communications division, and Nemours business partners by providing high quality creative and graphic design services that achieve cost effective results.

Collaborates on project conceptualization and content, while managing design and production of marketing and communications collateral for new and established programs. Provides creative direction on presentation of copy and visuals to produce effective solutions that are visually compelling, meet client objectives and maintain while monitoring Nemours graphic standards and brand identity.

Manage in-house graphic design development and production of Nemours publications and communications, brochures, invitations, posters, signage, promotional specialties, presentations and advertisements compatible with Nemours brand strategy.

Lead the design of a wide variety of marketing materials and education materials.

Work directly with Nemours business partners to brainstorm, develop and implement creative print, web solutions appropriate to client objectives. Consults with the marketing and communications team to ensure that key themes and messages are properly communicated.

Demonstrate proven advertising, creative direction skill; proven experience in advertising technique and brand communication; great understanding of composition; color; typography; flexibility; adaptability and ability to multitask.

Collaborates with business partners throughout the enterprise to understand, counsel, and manage graphic design services, including assisting in defining priorities and establishing timelines for each project.

Manage proofing, external production and delivery of all in-house projects from budget estimate to final shipping. Support production on projects that may have been initiated out-of-house.

Consult with printers and other vendors; acquire estimates through bidding process and offer recommendations.

Support the graphic standards system and act as the primary liaison for departments within the company and with outside vendors.

Manage scheduling and trafficking of projects from inception through creative production and printing in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Coordinate photography sessions related to marketing materials to ensure proper content, unique images and positioning of photos. In addition, developing an internal Nemours-owned photo library for future marketing projects and providing image management consistent with Nemours branding.

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or Marketing preferred.

3-5 years of advertising agency or marketing graphic design experience. Brand experience with a strong background in fine arts or computer graphics.

Proficiency on a PC/Macintosh - 3+ years of cross-platforming skills for external production delivery. Web design, maintenance, and content management experience preferred and related software a plus.

Demonstrated expertise with the latest related software: Adobe Creative Suite, Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, Streamline, Font Management, Acrobat, MS Office. PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, additional web content management.

Strong knowledge of print production and process: pre-press, color separations, 2- and 4- color process offset printing, obtaining estimates, bidding jobs, paper specs, etc.

Superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organization and time management skills. Ability to perform necessary hours to meet all project deadlines.

Ability to work in a wide range of environments: Independent; Collaborative team environment; With external consultants/agencies; Diverse clients and personalities; Extreme deadlines.
