This successful candidate for this position will function as part of a team of experienced individuals to develop satellite communications terminals in our Atlanta, GA office. Our interest is in productive individuals that have the flexibility required to perform in a very dynamic environment. We are looking for candidates with strong personal ownership, and the interest in growing in a leadership role within our company.
The desired candidate would be responsible for all of the system design and analysis for a satellite ground terminal program. Your activities will start with requirements analysis, allocation, and generation of formal and informal requirements documents. The candidate would complete the detailed system design, and oversee the implementation, test, system verification, delivery, and sell off of the completed system to the customer. Proven capabilities to conceptualize, design, implement, test and field satellite ground terminals, antenna telemetry systems, or similarly complex systems are required. The successful candidate will be a key senior member of the division involved with all aspects of ground terminals, including business development, proposal generation, systems engineering, and project engineering. Experience forming proposal capture teams a plus. Must have a strong analytical background coupled with hands-on implementation experience.
Experience/Skills Required
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, and 2-5 years systems design experience. The ideal candidate will have experience designing Ka-, X-, satellite communications systems. Design of ground terminals or similarly complex radar or communications systems required. Experience working with CECOM or SPAWAR is a plus. Experience working in a team environment is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Active government security clearance (secret or above) or a person who has held an active government clearance (secret or above) within the past two years is a plus. The candidate must be able to obtain an active US Government clearance (secret or above).

The ViaSat Atlanta facility is located in the northeastern suburb of Duluth. Having recently relocated to a new purpose-built campus, this office supports the dramatically growing Antenna Systems Group with engineering, program management, business development, manufacturing, and product support.
