Overview:

Our team is seeking a dynamic Group Sales and Marketing Manager with a strong background in the resort market. We are looking for an individual who is sales minded, creative, and innovative with an outgoing, friendly, and persuasive personality to join our team.

Based out of Myrtle Beach, SC and reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be able to achieve established revenue goals and stretch goals of group volume and advanced ticket sales.

Responsibilities:

 - Prepare and distribute sales and activity reports and attend weekly staff meetings


 - Accountable for booking group business in the southeast Market.
- Active in developing new business and the promotion of existing business.


 Develop Sales action plan with quarterly and annual quotas .
· Determine and recommend prospective customers from market information.
· Quote and negotiate prices and coupon-driven group sales within established parameters.
· Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with other facility managers on needs and preparations
·
Work with other group sales managers in the area to share ideas and co-op opportunities.


 - Develop relationships with key partners.
· Responsible for all group, special events and birthday events, expenses, tracking, training of staff on site to execute
·
Should attend and manage all major events and small events / groups as needed or periodically to maintain consistency and high standards
 - Learn all areas of operations and “Front of the House” responsibilities including filling in where needed.
 - Develop procedures for group programs and train staff to execute
 - Responsible for all donation requests / fulfillment and trade outs


 - Serve as our liaison and ambassador with all area hospitality, Chamber, CVB and other business associations


 -Promote and sell company through phone contact, on site visits, trade shows, leads, past client base


 - Media placement – negotiate media buys and marketing costs to maximize exposure, drive incremental revenue, decrease expenses


 - Group and educational programs – grow and develop new streams of revenue through these programs


  -Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long term goals. Contribute weekly to management meetings on trends and analysis.
 - Assist as directed, with development of competitive intelligence and in the preparation of the Marketing Plan, especially as it relates to the Corporate Marketing and overall strategies in tandem with other locations.


Develop tools to maximize exposure of all sales opportunities (profile sheet, sales collateral, rates, support material for fulfillment)
· Support and encourage a positive, performance-oriented team approach.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

· Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business or Hospitality strongly preferred.
· Minimum 3 years of Sales Manager/ Group Sales experience required.
· Must be results oriented with ability to be flexible – a strong closer


 - A natural passion for “performance” and enthusiasm for sales and promotion


 - Unquestionable ethics and commitment to execution


 - Must have professional and business poise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Computer literacy (Strong Microsoft Windows and MS Office Suite of software including Excel)
· A team player with a positive attitude.
· Ability to travel as required.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Bilingual abilities is a plus but not required.
· Previous experience / knowledge in several market segments is an asset.
