Job Responsibilities TASC is seeking a mid-level Guidance, Navigation, and Controls Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.This position will be located in San Bernardino. The qualified applicant will become part of TASC's Launch and Missile Division, which focuses on pre-flight planning and analysis, launching, and post flight analysis of ICBMs, target vehicles, and satellite launch vehicles for the USAF.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • System design, analysis, modeling, and simulation
  • Flight system performance analysis including nonlinear modeling, digital control, and system effectiveness analysis
  • Digital signal processing and navigation system error analysis
  • Develop, modify, and maintain software tools to include evaluation of flight mode failures, Instantaneous Impact Points (IIPs), probability of impact, and expected casualties
  • Develop, modify, and maintain GPS and telemetry processing tools for the reduction and analysis of flight test data for use in missile flight test data reduction to determine Best Estimate of Trajectory (BET)
  • Prepares presentations, reports, research, and other contract deliverables related to analyses performed
Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or applied mathematics or applied physics
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Guidance, Navigation or Controls theory and analysis
  • At least 5 years' experience in FORTRAN and/or C/C++ on Unix/Linux platforms
  • Experience in at least one of the following: control systems engineering, dynamic six degree of freedom modeling and simulation, launch vehicle analysis, navigation systems. Preference given to multiple skills
  • Must have demonstrated presentation skills and experience interfacing with customer
  • Position requires a proactive, self-starting, independent, flexible engineer with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must currently have a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • MS preferred
  • Understanding of missile engineering disciplines including guidance and controls, aerodynamics, structural dynamics preferred
  • Experience in Kalman Filtering or Satellite Toolkit desired
