Gunsmith & Technical Writer

About the Job

MidwayUSA is continuing to assemble the finest team of professionals in the Shooting Sports Industry, and we are looking for those who wish to turn their passion for the shooting sports into a dynamic, fast-paced career.  As a Gunsmith & Technical Writer, you will be responsible for working on a variety of gunsmithing projects for all MidwayUSA commercials, vignettes, and advertisements.  You’ll play a pivotal role in scripting the gunsmithing projects seen on Wednesday Night at the Range. 

 

This person will also be responsible for technical writing on all of our projects, which includes drafting potential storyboards, and scripting projects in concise, logical language as well as serving as a technical advisor during the filming process. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

 

·                     Excellent Gunsmithing Skills – Experience with a variety of firearms and the ability to produce quality work in a timely and efficient manner.  Knowledge and experience with lathe and mill operation are necessary.

·                     Written Communication Skills – Advanced writing skills coupled with the desire to research projects when required.

·                     Verbal Communication Skills – Ability to teach others and effectively communicate in a production setting.
