UWMC is currently recruiting for a HEALTH SERVICES MANAGERto join our team.  The Health Services Manager is responsible for overall supervision and management of technical staff working in Radiation Oncology.  The Health Services Manager recommends hires, supervises and mentors technical staff to create effective teamwork, plans and implements programs to meet specific therapy and procedural needs, and works to continually improve planning, simulation, and treatment area operations and efficiency.  The Health Services Manager also reports data needed to complete financial reports and budgets in collaboration with the Department Director.


The Health Services Manager:
  • Provides technical guidance as an integral part of expected daily activity to ensure high quality practices in all treatment/ procedural areas.

  • Ensures that technical process documentation meets industry standards as well as organization and departmental policies.

  • Models excellent customer service standards for staff and practitioners.

  • Ensures that technical staff is trained to follow billing guidelines and charge appropriately for services provided.

  • Mentors and coaches performance and quality improvement efforts for technical staff.

Candidates will be expected to have:
  • Management experience: ability to interview, make recommendations to hire, do performance reviews, and execute disciplinary process for all technical staff in compliance with HR guidelines.

  • Knowledge in all areas of patient services specific to radiation therapy, dosimetry/ treatment planning, and simulation activities.

  • Appropriate knowledge of medical record retention and image archiving standards.

  • Experience with Elekta linear accelerators and IMPAC documentation system.

  • Experience with Pinnacle planning system.

  • Experience with GE multi-slice CT Scanners in addition to the use and production of various immobilization devices.
  •  
  • Advanced interpersonal and management skills that enhance communication, promote conflict resolution, and facilitates staff development.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • The ability to work with physicians and other clinical staff in a collaborative manner.

  • Knowledge of JCAHO, DOH, and other regulatory agency standards and requirements.

  • Experience with Excel, Word, and other business applications.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Medical Dosimetry Board Certification.

  • AND
  • Washington State Radiologic Technology licensure.

  • AND
  • Certified by ARRT for radiation therapy technology.

  • AND
  • Bachelors Degree in Science or Business Administration or other related field.

  • AND
  • Minimum of five (5) years management / supervisory experience preferably in an academic medical setting.

  • AND
  • Intermediate computer knowledge. (Word and Excel)

  • AND
  • Experience with financial reporting and complex staff scheduling.
