Location: Columbia, SC office and field work in, and around, the Columbia, SC area.

The HEDIS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and completing HEDIS Quality Department specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Serves as a consultant, educator, and policy changer in the use of HEDIS data and the quality improvement process. Supports the HEDIS Lead. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates annual HEDIS medical record collection and/or abstraction process; analyzes plan/market results. Assists in the development of training materials, templates, processes, and procedures related to the project. Serves as resource and liaison for multiple associates to complete assignments. Collaborates with teams regarding work flow process improvement, document management, and abstraction education. Researches patient treatment, diagnosis, and related procedures using coded data to produce HEDIS results using organized charts or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Assists with implementing quality improvement activities aimed at HEDIS measure improvements.
  • Assists with the tracking of progress against established HEDIS goals by maintaining a detailed and up-to date HEDIS work plan.
  • Participates in the annual HEDIS medical record review.
  • Prepares committee and regulatory reports.
  • Assists with training, testing of new staff.
  • Manages internal tracking databases.
  • Prepares educational member and provider communications aimed at HEDIS improvements.
  • Coordinates annual HEDIS medical record collection and/or abstraction process; analyzes plan/market results.

Qualifications
Requires:
  • High school diploma; experience in all aspects of process development and execution, 1+ year of experience with HEDIS activity coordination and working with Managed/Acute/Provider Care environment preferred; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • AD or BA/BS preferred.
  • RN, RHIA or RHIT license preferred.
  • NCQA and HEDIS experience preferred.
  • Quality Improvement and Corrective Action plan experience preferred.
