Compact License or Texas license required.
10 years of recent Labor and Delivery, 5 years Nurse Manager of Postpartum and Newborn Nursery experience. Current BLS for healthcare provider certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) and fetal heart monitoring certification required within 6 months of hire. Neonatal STABLE course required within one year of hire date. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Maintains basic computer knowledge. Responsible for hiring, training budgeting for the unit plus the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for maternity/Labor and Delivery and newborn patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
