Job Description:

Our Client is seeking an HIM Director. Kforce is seeking a strong and talented individual to head up an HIM department at one of our prominent clients near Phoenix, AZ.

This individual will need to have prior medical coding experience; coding Inpatient, Outpatient, E&M and ED charts. Specialty coding experience is preferred.

Requirements:


  • RHIT or RHIA certification. Member of AHIMA

  • Strong leadership skills within Health Information Management

  • 5+ years of previous HIM Management / Director experience within an acute care facility

  • This is a working director position and will need to know how to code IP and OP

  • Understanding of Coding, ROI and medical transcription

  • Proficient at ICD-9 coding

  • Privacy Officer experience is preferred

  • Extensive experience communicating with medical staff to include RN's and MD's

  • Good track record of managing budgets and finishing projects on time and under budget



Preferred:

  • BA degree, but will review candidates with AA degree

  • JCAHO Survey preparedness and reporting

  • Physician Education / Documentation experience

  • Policy and Procedure Development experience



Technical Skills:

  • IP and OP Coding

  • Electronic Medical Record Systems Experience



Cultural/Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Capable to gain rapport with HIM Staff, Administration and clinical staff - MD's and RN's
