FLSA:                                       Salaried – Exempt


Hours/Days Worked:                  8:30AM – 5:30PM (Monday through Friday)

EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVE


The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to the Director of Human Resources to help achieve efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function to include primarily recruitment and other areas as follows:  retention, wage/benefit administration, compliance, execution of employee relation activities, in order to provide each department with the staff, guidance and support necessary to achieve their business objectives.  Deliver excellent responsive customer service by performing the following:


 


SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Recruitment, Training, Benefits, Employee Relations & Procedures


·         Participate in the employment and recruitment process for all positions.


·         Attend and assist with job fairs and special recruiting events.


·         Coordinate the administration of job postings, applicant tracking and file management, recruiting, screening, respond to inquiries, reference/background checks, training and communication to job candidates as needed.


·         Provide guidance, counseling, assistance and training for Supervisors, Managers and Associates.


·         Administer oversight and corrective action procedures in order to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.  Maintain company policies regarding employees and attendance records.


·         Coordinate the activity of temporary agency staff on assigned shifts to maximize attendance, performance and efficient utilization.  Coordinate associated billing activities.


·         Conduct new hire orientation and conduct all related regulatory processes.


·         Provide information to employees regarding HR programs, employee benefits and related issues.


·         Oversee benefits enrollments, changes and required paperwork.


·         Research and implement all actions required to ensure regulatory compliance.


·         Continue updates as required of Employee Handbook and associated procedures.


·         Maintain updated companywide job descriptions that tie in competencies for yearly performance planning.


·         Administer performance planning documents and tracking for use in performance reviews.


·         Maintain roles and responsibilities as outlined within company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO-9001/2008.


·         Act as Employee Relations agent for all levels within the organization.


·         Maintain Human Resource databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.


·         Work with the HR Coordinator to ensure payroll is submitted accurately and on time and ensure the ADP card swipe computer system is properly maintained.


·         Provide advice, assistance, enforcement, and follow-up on company personnel policies, procedures & documentation.


·         Manage other special projects and assignments as required by the Director, Human Resources.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


·         Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent combination of experience and education.


·         PHR preferred with 5-7 years experience in a HR Generalist position, with a min. of 5 years recruitment exp.  


·         Cooperative attitude with team-oriented disposition with excellent customer service skills.


·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.


·         Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities, at all times.


·         Maintain a pleasant attitude and professionalism while working under high pressure situations.


·         Must be extremely flexible to changing environments of a thriving business and ability to work additional hours.


·         Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.


·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


·         Ability to multi-task and work in a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


·         Demonstrated ability to effectively plan and organize projects and strategic initiatives.


·         Proficient computer skills in ADP, (Microsoft Office:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Visio, and Internet.


·         Occasional travel between Montreal, QC and Essex Junction, VT offices required.


·         Knowledge of ERP systems preferred; Military experience a plus.
