The HR Generalist is responsible for employee related matters for covered site(s) including handling employee inquiries related to benefits, HR processes, programs, and activities in collaboration with the HR Manager, within the scope of their respective employee base and covered sites. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Along with HR Manager, is first point of contact for employees with regard to all employment related matters. Provides guidance and assistance to employees for Payroll, Benefits, and other HR processes including family status changes, Leave of Absences, and understanding CKP resources and HR systems. · Conduct new hire on boarding as it relates to new hire paperwork and documentation, conducts benefits orientation; ensures HR Manager policy orientation is complete and guides department manager for efficient onboarding of new employees. Provides support to employees in regard to HR systems (i.e. Self Service, MyCMS, HR Requisition database, Timekeeping, etc..) · Serves as MyCMS administrator by providing user education, developing reports for HRM or Managers, and ensuring deadlines are met. · Liaison to the HR Operations Shared Service Team (SST) to provide proper documentation for all Payroll and Benefit related matters affecting employee records. First point of contact for employee’s during annual open enrollment process and assist Benefits Administrator in following up with employees to enroll and receive necessary documentation. · Partners with HRM and Dept Manager to initiate and manage the requisition process and assist in obtaining/updating job descriptions for all job titles within scope. · Partners with HRM to make final decision on all new hires. This includes coordinating efforts with the Recruiting Team and assist as needed, to include participating in interviews, coordinating interview and travel agendas, conducting references, administering Hogan assessments, and ensuring all backgrounds and references are sufficient to approve the hire into the organization. · Assists the HRM with exit interviews, termination paperwork and career counseling communications. · Assists with employee meetings, service award program, training programs and events. · Coordinates employee relocations to ensure proper employee communication, accounting of receipts and documentation for submission to payroll for taxation. · Assists the HRM with responses to unemployment filings and hearings. · Ensures regulatory and EEO compliance requirements for sites covered by the HRM. · Collaborates with HRM on Checkpoint strategic HR initiatives. · Serves as primary contact for all Worker Compensation issues. · Manages record keeping process for all HR files and the retention of HR related records. JOB REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience. · Minimum 3 - 4 years experience in HR related position preferred. · Must have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to present information to groups to build and foster strong business relationships and strong problem solving skills. · Experience with recruitment, diversity programs, compensation analysis, and training. · Knowledge of general HR policies, standard processes, functions and systems, labor laws, and EEO. · Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi task are required. · Mastery skills in use of tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). · Experience handling highly confidential and sensitive information. · Strong written communications skills required.
