JOB OPPORTUNITY

We are currently recruiting for a HR Generalist - Senior in our Houston Fiserv office. This position will be responsible for the following:

 

Job Description

Provides human resources support and counsel to a business unit or location encompassing any of the following areas: employee relations, training and organizational development, recruiting, new hire assimilation, records retention compensation, benefits, and immigration.    Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and compliance with all laws/statues regulating the employment relationship. Receives guidance and counsel from Manager, Human Resources/Director, and Human Resources. Requires a minimum of 5 years of related HR experience. 

 

Job Responsibilities

Serve as a liaison to employees, in a client group/location, for answers to basic to moderate questions regarding policies and procedures.  Ensure that personnel policies and procedures are communicated and followed and are in compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and statues.

Assist in resolving basic to moderate employee relations issues. Works with managers to appropriately coach and discipline employees.

Facilitates and monitors the yearly Performance Management, Compensation and Employee Development Cycle

Partners with Senior Leaders in employee recognition/employee programs and initiatives

Perform basic to moderate tasks involving recruiting, employment, compensation, benefits, training, security and other HR related tasks as directed.

Conducts and/or oversees new hire assimilation process.

Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to HR Manager/Director. 

Maintain records for EEO and affirmative action reporting requirements.

Analyze basic to moderate management information reports for cause and effect, and make recommendations to HR Manager.

Assists in various training and development endeavors

Conduct various special projects and prepare various reports as requested by HR Manager/Director

Completes other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

Working knowledge of HR practices including laws and regulations.

Ability to handle high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding employee information.

Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including strong presentation skills.

Strong initiative and problem solving skills

Work with minimal supervision.  Proven ability to set work priorities and make decisions.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Experience in working with HRIS applications (SAP a plus)

Advanced proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database programs.

Skills Desired

Minimum of five years of experience in HR function with at least 3 in generalist role.

Prefer PHR certification

Experience in a Call Center /Customer Service environment a plus. Experience with sales and financial organizations also helpful.

Education Required

Bachelor's degree in business, liberal arts, human resources or organizational development.
