HR Manager
We are currently seeking a Human Resource (HR) Manager to oversee a Fulfillment Center location in Oak Creek, WI.
• Train and support operational managers and supervisors to ensure company goals for associate development, HR utilization and customer service are attained through consistent execution of human resource, training and operational plans. • Ensure open communication of issues, initiatives, operating plans and responsibilities among location personnel, management and the corporate office to facilitate efficient and effective execution of training plans and HR programs. • Continuously demonstrate the ability to evaluate a location from a human resources perspective; partner with the appropriate resources and implement a pro-active, associate-focused plan with an end result of meeting the location’s associate, operational and financial goals. • Generally provide support for large population of associates geographically isolated from “core” human resources support staff / professionals. • Primary HR responsibility for 200+ exempt and non-exempt associates in multiple locations. Significant strategic and tactical interaction with senior operational or general management executives. • Provide direction and support to the operational management team in developing associates through training, coaching, performance management and appropriate placement to maintain a high caliber work force and a qualified pool of promotable candidates. • Ensure consistent and fair administration of Staples Policies and Procedures throughout the organization, while also ensuring that Local, State and Federal laws and regulations are adhered to. • Demonstrate ability to positively influence the behavior of associates at all levels of an organization. Serve as an employee advocate in the resolution of workplace issues and/or conflicts. • Advise management personnel on the fair & consistent handling of situations requiring discipline, ensuring associates are not terminated without the involvement of appropriate operational and HR representatives. • Manage the recruitment, selection and hiring process to find and attract highly qualified and motivated candidates at all levels of the organization. • Ensure that company pay administration policies are applied fairly and consistently. • Ensure active and timely involvement in North American Deliver (NAD) Corporate.
Qualifications: • Bachelor Degree required; HR Certification and/or Masters Degree a plus. • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience required. • Proven ability to manage, develop and delegate to support team. • Experience working with both hourly and exempt associates. • Ability to understand and execute within sound human resources procedural and legislative guidelines. • Competency in all Microsoft applications. • Knowledge of PeopleSoft helpful. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. • Human Resource Generalist experience in manufacturing, warehousing or retail distribution preferred.
