HR/Payroll Administrator

About the Job

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A. Payroll Administration and HR System Data Management

- Processes bi-weekly, multi-state payroll and serves as the point of contact for related issues.
- Audits payroll transactions, processes wage verifications and garnishments, assists with month and year-end payroll reconciliation, prepares payroll reports when requested, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Updates payroll records including changes in salary, exemption, insurance coverage, status, transfers, performance review scores, etc.
- Maintains and audits data in key department systems, including time and attendance, payroll/HRIS, and Red Carpet
- Organizes and files payroll records and reports

B. Supports Recruiting and New Hire Process:

- Verifies criminal and credit check reports and ensures references checks are completed.
- Facilitates on-boarding process through Red Carpet, audits pre-employment and new hire paperwork, and completes new employee set up in HRIS/Payroll.
- Assists with the set up and management of internal postings in Applicant Tracking System as needed.
- Oversees the distribution and maintenance of parking cards.
- Creates and maintains confidential HR files and records for employees. Maintains paper files on-site and submits files and report to vendor for scanning.

C. Administration:

- Oversees enrollment process for benefit plans, including retirement and health plans.
- Performs reconciliation of parking bills and other bills as requested.
- Assists in managing special projects including the United Way Campaign, the formal review process, travel arrangements for out of state new hires, etc.
- Prepares reports as needed.
- Administers employee service awards and supports agency-wide events and activities.


 


Qualifications:
Must have strong verbal and written communications skills. Must illustrate proven success working independently and on projects requiring attention to detail.
Must have experience managing confidential data Must have a proven proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must have satisfactory credit.


 


THIS OPPORTUNITY IS A TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT AND IT WILL NOT EXCEED 6 MONTHS.
