Role:
This position will serve as the primary HR contact for a medium department(s) or functional area of supporting several hundred clients. This position reports to a Director, Human Resources and will have responsibility for all aspects of human resources. Primarily, the Human Resources Relationship Manager (HRRM) will be responsible for interpreting and providing guidance on employment policies, practices and procedures, staffing and other human resource activities. The HRRM will also focus on coaching and counseling associates and managers on employment relations, employment law, performance management, benefits and compensation practices and training.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop HR strategies and tactics
  • Acting as a member of the HR and Business management team in support of their objectives
  • Understanding the business strategy and its HR implications
  • Supporting the business in achieving its HR objectives
  • Developing and maintaining a high level of knowledge in all areas of TD AMERITRADE HR policies and practices.
  • Assessing the HR implications of business initiatives and providing advice to the management team accordingly
  • Implement HR programs
  • Managing the successful and consistent implementation of HR initiatives within the business
  • Assisting in the development of communications initiatives
  • Looking for and monitoring feedback, sharing successes, failures, and lessons learned as appropriate
  • Conducting post-implementation reviews to ensure desired business results were achieved
  • Support the Business in managing HR issues
  • Providing the business with high quality advice and support in the management of its HR needs
  • Assisting managers in their recruitment needs
  • Assisting with the identification of potential succession resources
  • Assisting with the effective management of associate training and development, and compensation programs that support the business needs, ensuring compliance with enterprise wide HR values and philosophy
  • Contributing to the team's goals and operate with the business plan
  • Ensure ongoing communication with the team on the status of issues
  • Participating fully as a member of the team and contribute to a positive work environment

  • Ability to work autonomously with established practices an the ability to work co-operatively with others
  • High degree of personal initiative and achievement motivation, setting personal standards of excellence and ongoing performance improvement
  • High level of self-confidence with ability to adapt to changing environments;
  • Ability to listen, understand and respond appropriately when interacting with individuals groups.
  • Solid background and experience in the Associate communication principles and practices with well developed business writing skills as well as a comfort level in making presentations.
  • The need to complete assignments and execute flawlessly with urgency
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach others at various levels of the organization.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and providing quick and reliable HR consultation are essential.
  • The successful candidate will possess a BA/BS and 5-8 years experience in a Human Resources role (specifically in a Generalist or Relationship Manager position), or an equivalent combination including business related experience with strong emphasis on employee relations, performance management and relationship management
  • Proven ability to coach and train management team at all levels
  • Strongly demonstrated analytical and conceptual thinking capabilities; communication skills (verbal and written) and proven time management aptitude is essential
  • Able to work independently on projects as required; experience working as a member of a team on larger projects or processes
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Experience in an HR setting supporting financial services experience desired
