Title: HRIS Director
Reports to: Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Location: Miramar, Florida (20 minutes North from Miami)

Indeed, during a typical working week Southern sales, delivery and the support staff collectively calls on or services over 200,000 different chain and the independent retail and restaurant customers across the country.
Primary Focus:
This role is Southern Wine & Spirits’ Human Resources Information Systems functional expert and will serve as an advisor to senior management to assure the alignment of HRIS and Talent Management Systems with the organization's overall Talent Management Strategies.
The ideal candidate for this newly created position is expected to be a subject matter expert in contemporary HRIS/Talent Management design, administration and capabilities. The Talent Management systems include an applicant tracking system (SilkRoad OpenHire), a performance appraisal system (SuccessFactors), and a Learning Management System (IntraLearn), as well as SAP payroll/HRIS.
This person will examine and evaluate current processes and systems as well as proactively implement new programs, processes, systems, and enhancements.
- Proactively research and recommend new HR and business related systems and improved process solutions/enhancements to support Talent Management initiatives. Gather detailed requirements from key HR and business end-users and translate them into effective processes, system design, and procedures while considering and anticipating organizational impact. Anticipate client needs, monitor industry and company trends in order to recommend functionality enhancements. Provide advice that enables users to solve problems and/or improve business processes.
- Develop and manage project plans and manage deadlines, project scope, potential risks, and budget. Gather and document business, technical, and operational requirements for initiatives by facilitating brainstorming sessions and interfacing with users. Develop functional specifications and detailed project plans and identify project dependencies. Manage issues and risks. Communicate status in a timely basis.
- Track and drive projects to successful completion. Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional team members/other stakeholders to complete deliverables and resolve issues. Ensure program scope, schedule, quality, and associated metrics are adequately defined and delivered.
- Provide advice, guidance, training, recommendations and counsel to management, HR staff and employees to insure systems functionality and effectiveness.
- 10+ years HRIS related experience including 5+ years of managerial HRIS responsibility in complex HR systems for the functional areas of Human Resources, Applicant Tracking, Benefits, Compensation, Learning Management, and/or Performance Management. Significant proficiency with managing the major functional aspects of complex HRIS systems.
- Demonstrated professional judgment and flexibility in making decisions that balance expenses, technology capabilities and business needs.
- Strong consultative, coaching and influencing skills.
- Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills including effective report writing.
- Strong time management skills, and the ability to assess systems functionality/requirements and prioritize multiple initiatives
Travel: Minimal
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Background:
Advanced Business-related degree with an emphasis in HR related systems.

- An excellent communicator. Written and verbal skills should encompass the ability to clearly document issues, resolution and results.
- Able to make HRIS/Talent Management Systems key competitive differentiators for Southern Wine & Spirits.
- A self-starter with a record of identifying areas of opportunity and “making it happen”.
Summary:
Based upon Southern’s management style, which is oriented towards action/execution along with team-based collaboration and a keen eye on the bottom-line, it is expected that the individual will be a seasoned professional capable of quickly earning credibility and leading by example. The individual is also expected to have superior influencing and presentation skills to facilitate change.
Ultimately, the HRIS Director is a business partner and will have the opportunity for visibility at the highest level of the company.
