We are looking for an experienced field technician who wants to move into a leadership role.

HVAC Automation Service Technician

Bring your extensive experience and perform field coordination and supervision of subcontractors, vendors and Honeywell technicians for installation of building automation and life safety systems. Ensure the work is installed on time in accordance with the project design and specifications.

You will also supervise installation technicians as well as supporting the commissioning, start-up and checkout of building automation and fire alarm systems. You must be able to manage field installation to contract documents and to anticipate and recognize changes from documented scope of work. Primary responsibility will be project supervision however some technician work may be required.

Additional duties will be:

• Assist the project manager in planning and coordinating HVAC and Fire Installations.


• Manage technical aspects of job including customer demonstration, training and commissioning.


• Familiarity with construction plans and specifications. .


• Be responsible for commissioning start-up and checkout of building automation systems.


• Provides work direction, supervision, training, and coaching to other Install Specialists in the start-up and check-out of equipment and software.


• Understand and execute all guidelines for hardware and software checkout. This would include hardware point to point checkout.


• Be responsible for Honeywell equipment at field site, its handling if required and correct installation by subcontractors. Also be responsible for Honeywell assets such as tools, proprietary software and database at job site.

You will need to pass mandatory background checks to work on Airport Facilities.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 years HVAC Automation - DDC Technician experience


• 2 years of Lead tech or job-site supervisory experience providing work direction, training, and check-out of equipment and software.


• 3 years experience in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) in a business environment


• Valid Driver's License

Additional Qualifications and Learning Opportunities

• Honeywell Excel 5000 product and Care 8 programming.


• Systems that involve advanced solutions such as EBI, Tridium, Lonworks, Modbus or BACnet.


• Associates or Technical Degree.


• Experience with Windows server operating systems, networking and domains


• Strong electronics background.


• Working knowledge of electrical systems such as lighting, CCTV, Security systems as they relate to the overall building management systems.


• NICET Certification Level 2 or higher


• Strong organization, time management and computer skills.


• Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
