Kroll Ontrack's Legal Technologies group (Electronic Discovery, Paper Discovery, Computer Forensics) assists attorneys, businesses and investigators with the collection, organization and preparation of data for review and analysis in legal matters, regulatory filings, and investigations.


 


Oversee the maintenance, repair and recordkeeping of Kroll Ontrack's HVAC equipment and systems.  Test, adjust and verify HVAC equipment and systems for optimum efficiency.  Assist other facilities staff with testing/monitoring power switching, power generation, and power regulation systems.  HVAC duties account for approximately 65% activity, with power switching/regulation items, in addition to general maintenance duties which comprise the remaining 35%. Position is on-call 24/7.


 


Responsibilities will include:


  • Perform and record routine maintenance of all specialty HVAC equipment/systems.

  • Order, oversee, or perform and record repairs to all specialty HVAC equipment/systems.  Prioritize repairs.

  • Assess and test, as required, any other HVAC systems or system changes.

  • Assist other Kroll Ontrack offices with potential problems or alternations to HVAC systems.  Perform on-site evaluations, if needed, at these off-site offices, regarding repair or performance.

  • Evaluate, validate and recommend HVAC systems.  Perform on-site evaluations, if needed, at off-site offices, regarding repair or performance.

  • Train and perform APC UPS maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.

  • Test and coordinate electrical power issued with electrical utility, switching and motor generated power.

  • Zero to 10% travel may be required (domestic and international).  Potential of 3-4 times per year for a few days at a time.


 


  • Advanced computer skills to include electronic communication and building energy management systems.

  • Demonstrated experience with high voltage systems up to and including 480V 3 phase power for motors, pumps, compressors, condensers, fans and lighting applications.

  • Advanced experience in handling, charging, draining, and recharging refrigerant systems.

  • Ability to operate hand tools safely.

  • Driving may be necessary, using personal vehicle, to get parts, meet vendors, or to go to other office locations.

  • Must be able to operate electrical and HVAC equipment considered standard for the trade.

  • Ability to move distances within and between buildings through the outdoors.

  • Ability to travel by conventional means, including airplane.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from the floor or a ladder; ability to move between buildings through  the outdoors, ability to access systems equipment including kneeling, bending, squatting, lying, climbing, and entering confined spaces; ability to utilize both large and small (fine) motor skills.

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex electrical diagrams to include ladder type drawings.

  • Ability to analyze and communicate effectively complex mechanical and electrical systems to staff and vendors.

  • Ability to work alternative shift, if called for an after hours emergency.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time will be required.

  • Ability to work in both hot and cold environments; work on rooftops, with gases, refrigerant, moving parts, belts, in areas that may be dusty or noisy.

 


Education:


 


High School diploma or equivalent.


 


Professional License/specialized training:  Minimum 2-year HVAC certificate from a technical college; Refrigeration license as approved by US Environmental Protection Agency.


 


Three to five years HVAC experience.
