We are seeking a Hardware Level II Tech for the Decentralized product group.

Position Description

Provide Electronic and Electromechanical Technical support for Field Service Engineers and Help Desk on our automated equipment used for the storage, dispensing, and tracking of narcotics and floor stock drugs. Act as a liaison between the customer support group and the engineering/manufacturing/production groups. Continuously update and develop installation, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance, training documentation and procedures. Perform mean time between failure and root cause failure statistical analyses to improve the uptime of McKesson Automation products.



Provide Electronic and Electromechanical Technical support for Customer Support and Field Service personnel. Analyze SQL database error logs to diagnose problematic equipment and provide corrective solutions. Provide product feedback to engineering and management. Provide ongoing training to Customer Support and Field Service personnel as needed. Provide onsite hardware & procedural training to hospital BioMed department on the dispensing equipment. Train Field Service Engineers on repair, installation and preventative maintenance procedures. Repair and install automation equipment as required. Develop and maintain service documentation on all decentralized product lines. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures to a component level. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Knowledge of computer software installation and troubleshooting processes. Perform product upgrades and modifications as well as special assignments. Maintain fiscal responsibility for business expenses associated with company issued credit card. 25% Overnight Travel. Adhere to all health and safety regulations. On call rotation for Level II support.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with one year of related field experience or product knowledge preferred. Will consider an Associate's degree in electronics, electromechanical technology or technical related field with a minimum of 3 years of field service engineering experience on automation equipment or related field experience. Or, in lieu of post-high school education, a minimum of seven years of related electrical or mechanical field experience or product knowledge will be considered. Ability to travel 25% of work schedule on a national basis.



Technical Knowledge of the following: Working knowledge of computer software, PC Windows, Microsoft Office Professional, SQL 6.5 & 8.0, ADM. Advanced experience in network troubleshooting. Exhibits leadership ability, demonstrates strong customer interfacing abilities, technical writing skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills. Capable of using wide range of test equipment such as oscilloscope, multi-meter, and specialized software testing tools. Experience working on the AcuDose-Rx product line is a plus.
