We are seeking a Hardware Level II Engineer who will support Robot-Rx.

Position Description


Provide Electronic and Electromechanical Technical support for Field Service Engineers and Help Desk on our automated equipment used for the storage, dispensing, and tracking of narcotics and floor stock drugs. Act as a liaison between the service group and the engineering/manufacturing/production groups. Continuously update and develop installation, preventative maintenance, emergency maintenance and training documentation and procedures. Perform mean time between failure statistical analysis to improve the uptime of McKesson Automation products.



Analyze SQL database error logs to diagnose problematic equipment and provide corrective solutions. Provide product feedback to engineering and management. Provide ongoing training to Help Desk and Field Service personnel as needed. Train new Field Service Engineers on Installation and preventative maintenance procedures. Repair and install automation equipment that includes pneumatic controls, digital electro-mechanical servo controls, solenoid valves, PC interface controls and mechanical drive stations. Independently troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures to a component level. Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Install and configure Servers, Workstations, and Interfaces used in our 10 Base T Ethernet networks. Complete product upgrades and modifications as well as special assignments. Coordinate on-site installations of new or additional products. Maintain fiscal responsibility for business expenses associated with Company issued credit card. Adhere to all health and safety regulations. On call rotation for level II support.

Additional Knowledge & Skills


Technical Knowledge of the following: SQL Server 6.5, SMS, Windows NT Server, and Windows NT Workstation. Basic knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft operating systems (Windows NT, 95, 98, 2000 and DOS commands). Basic networking skills. Proven leadership ability. Demonstrated strong customer interface and excellent verbal and written communications skills. Technical writing skills.

Minimum Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with one year of related field experience or product knowledge preferred. Will consider an Associate degree in electronics, electromechanical technology or technical related field with a minimum of 3 years of field service engineering experience on automation equipment or related field experience. Or in lieu of post-high school education, a minimum of seven years of related electrical or mechanical field experience or product knowledge will be considered. Minimum of two years of field service engineering experience required specifically on the Robot-Rx product. Ability to travel 20% of work schedule and be on-call as necessary.
