Hardware/Software Technician

Our client, a successful, international high-tech Company is seeking a Hardware/Software Technician to join the R&D group in their Waltham location.  The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who enjoys tackling and solving problems, possesses strong communication skills, interacts well with all levels of management and is comfortable working in a culturally diverse, multi-national organization.

Principle Responsibilities:

• 
  
  Perform R&D testing on custom printers and equipment.


• 
  
  Troubleshoot proprietary hardware and/or software problems as needed.


• 
  
  Install, maintain and upgrade printers and peripherals devices (readers, scanners, etc) on customer sites.


• 
  
  Assist in the preparation of trade shows and customer demonstrations.


• 
  
  Travel internationally up to 30% of time.

 Qualifications:

• 
  
  1-2 years professional work experience.


• 
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.


• 
  
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


• 
  
  Ability to successfully pass substance abuse and other required pre-employment tests.


• 
  
  Comfortably able to lift up to 40 pounds of equipment.


• 
  
  Ability to obtain US Security clearance.
