This position wil be located in Round Rock, TX or Nashua, NH.

Responsibilities include the assimilation and understanding of the industry and competitive software technology environment for the given technology and the derivation of a technology/product strategy from this information.  Duties include leading technology investigations, performing strategic analysis of the industry capabilities, and developing recommendations, which influence the technical product strategy for a given technology.  The IT Systems Management technologist will engage with  design teams, marketing teams, and suppliers to ensure the strategy meets Dell's requirement of product leadership for the Cloud Software solution technology area. This position will be internal and externally facing and will require customer and partner interaction and support during product definition, development and installation and operational phases of its life cycle.

Qualifications

Specific experience in building out complex software environments that have multi-tenant, distributed characteristics in a commercial business setting for delivery of solutions to end users is a critical asset of the candidates background.

A successful candidate must have the following qualifications/experience:

·         At least 15 years in IT Systems Management development as a software developer.

·         At least 7 years either driving technology strategy for a commercial software product, or as a development manager

·         Operational experience designing, installing, and managing complex IT Systems Management environments. Proven ability to define and execute complex plans across a matrixed organization.

·         Track record of success working with remote teams

·         Experience working with product management teams to influence a product direction in support of both customer and product infrastructure needs

·         Previous track-record of success working with agile methodologies

·         Direct experience working with customers to understand pain points and influence product direction

·         Experience in SaaS or Cloud based IT Systems Management technologies including service provisioning, orchestration, automation, metering and billing

·         Experience with virtualization technologies

·         Strong communication ability through presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written skills

·         Development experience in IT systems management, service orchestration, and or service provisioning using Java, Ruby, XML, C or other programming languages.  Advanced understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products, and competitive offerings.

·         Industry advanced-level ability to analyze options for critical components / features and coordinate selection with the optimum balance of performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability

·         Previous experience authoring technical patents

·         Displays creative problem solving skills

·         Comfortable interfacing and developing ICs, either via direct report or matrix management.   Advanced team participation skills and advanced team building skills.

·         Demonstrates basic ability to lead projects to completion within the allotted timeframe and within the allotted budget.

The following qualifications/experience is strongly desired:

·         Experience developing and/or managing development for a SaaS product line

·         Experience in software services

·         B.S./M.S. in computer engineering or science
