The Opportunity

Reporting to the Athletics Director, the Head Softball Coach will be responsible for the day to day operation of a competitive NCAA Division III softball program. This position requires the flexibility to work evening and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the softball program in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the athletics department, the New England Collegiate Conference, and the NCAA, to include all rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards for financial aid, eligibility, and recruiting.
  • The head softball coach should have experience and knowledge of the game of softball, be a highly motivated recruiter and possess the ability to improve individual techniques/skills and develop a successful game strategy. High ethical standards and the ability to relate to and work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population are expected.

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education required.
  • Proven record of recruiting NCAA Division III student-athletes in softball.Previous coaching experience desired.
  • Required to obtain certifications in CPR and First Aid, and other certifications as needed.Valid driver’s license required.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with a diverse student base.
