Health Care Information Management Instructor

General Description

The overall responsibility of the HCIM Instructor is to provide quality training on a variety of instructor-led Healthcare Information Management Series of courses

·          The instructor utilizes company resources i.e. supervisors, prep lab and courseware when preparing for each class.

·          The instructor is self sufficient in preparing for class and shows this by preparing ahead of time and obtaining the materials required without management.

·          The instructor maintains an 8.46 evaluation average.

·          The instructor maintains a professional appearance and attitude in the classroom.

·          Demonstrates basic knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm of course content.

·          Prepares lab equipment and supplies to efficiently manage class time & facilitate learning.

·          Communicates advice to facilitate student success.

·          Demonstrates a positive and caring attitude to support student success.

·          Identifies “at-risk” students and establishes and implements a student “get-well” plan.

·          Work with centers management team to continue to grow the HCIM training program

·          Establish relationships with other HCIM instructors to enhance best practices

·          Additional Responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary by management

 

Competencies Include

·          Medical Office Administration education.

·          Medical office work experience – minimum of 1 year.

·          Demonstrates a basic knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology.

·          Demonstrates a basic knowledge of the pronunciation, spelling and definition of the medical language.

·          Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to process billing and insurance claims in a medical office.

·          Possesses exemplary computer skills.

·          Understands basic medical coding processes.

·          Understands credentialing and can advise students to seek certification.

·          Has the ability to teach others in ICD 9 and CPT.

·          Bachelors Degree.

·          CPC or CCS-P certification.

        Bilingual a plus.
