The Health Educator is responsible for responding to inbound inquiries for disease management or medication alert programs.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Coordinates health education programs with providers and community groups as part of Quality Management and reports outcomes.
  • Makes outbound attempts to program members to provide health information according to program standards.
  • Educates members, prospective members, community organizations, and providers about Health Education programs and services.
  • Develops and ensures implementation of member community education programs, classes and materials that focus on prevention, health behavior modification and disease management.
  • Collaborates with marketing representatives to identify and implement activities/services that promote retention and assist with market penetration and growth.
  • Communicates community education programs and events to internal departments, providers, and members.
  • Provides information to members eligible for the case management program

  • Requires a BA/BS in Health Promotion, Health Education, or related field; and 3 years of experience in health
  • or managed care education; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Certification as a health education specialist (CHES) is preferred
  • Master's in Public health (MPH) degree with concentration in community health or health education is preferred.
  • Requires strong communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish is required.
  • Will require up to 30% local travel within the region.
