Degree:
Registered Nurse - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or non-degree registered nurse (diploma graduate) from a state or nationally accredited institution.
Work Experience:
BS nursing - two years within the past 5 years; AD nursing-four years within the past eight years; Diploma Nursing - five years within the past eight years. Two years work experience for AD nurse and three years for Diploma Nurse is held in escrow and released for pay purposes if a four year
Credential:
An active North Carolina license as a registered nurse; license must be clear of restrictions
An active North Carolina license in an Allied Health/Medical Professional
Praxis not required
License Requirements:
Registered Nurse - Coursework - 18 hours (6 hours per year)
Diploma Nurse or Allied Health/Medical Professional - 18 hours (6 hours per year)
Curriculum, Instructional Planning and Assessment in Health Occupation Education
Instructional Methods in Health Occupations Education (this requirement can be met by the 80 hour induction program).
Reading in the Content Area Methods
