Health Outcomes Research Operations Director Location: Delaware Our client is a health outcomes research firm located in Delaware and we are seeking a Research Operations Director to join this dynamic, growing company. Founded in the mid 1990’s and now an independently-operating subsidiary of a fortune 50 company, our client utilizes its access to the country’s best research resources to provide the health care system and the biopharmaceutical industry with naturalistic "real-life" information on the value and safety of various interventions, patient populations, and healthcare resources. Projects range from traditional claims-based retrospective analyses to large-scale, prospective studies and work to measure clinical, humanist, and economic endpoints. The Research Operations Director is responsible for a segment of the company’s project operations as they relate to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical partners. Activities to include: project conceptualization, leading the proposal preparation process, proposal defense presentations, project planning and project management. The Research Operations Director will direct teams on multiple projects simultaneously while also working with their team vice president of business development and operations on new business development. The Research Operations Director will lead project management of company operations by assuring the quality and timeliness of deliverables to our pharmaceutical partners as well as providing mentorship to team members. - Plans, directs, and controls the resources and efforts of teams to accomplish the objectives of the company and the Health Outcomes Department. Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to get projects accomplished.
- Represents the company in client interaction during operational stages of a project as well as in the development of new business opportunities.
- Reports project status and progress vs. plan to the Vice President, Business Development & Research Operations.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness of output and deliverables for assigned functional areas.
- Manages resources effectively and efficiently to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Leads team members in a matrix environment.
- Provides leadership in motivating team members to accomplish team goals and objectives.
- Develops a strong team through mentoring, training and effective organizational development practices.
- Utilizes strategic as well as industry standard metrics to measure performance.
Qualifications: - Must have experience within Health economics and outcomes research within the vendor/pharmaceutical industry.
- This position requires a B.S. (M.S., Pharm.D., Ph.D., or M.D. preferred) in business or a life sciences field.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience leading project teams in Health Outcomes and Epi Research,
- 2+ years of experience managing client interactions.
- Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success in making timely and effective decisions that support the business.
- Proven proposal development and marketing skills.
- Highly effective communication skills (oral and written), and well developed interpersonal skills.
- Proven management and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to work within a dynamic rapidly growing and evolving environment.
