The Health & Public Service operating group serves health organizations, government agencies, institutions and nonprofit organizations worldwide providing a broad range of consulting, technology, system integration and business processing services.

 

Service Delivery professionals are responsible for providing service delivery across the breadth of offerings such as accounting, information technology, application development and maintenance, helpdesk services, procurement, learning and training, and human resources. The work that is performed by our delivery professionals may serve one or more clients concurrently and they may be located directly at a client site or within our global delivery network.

 

Job Description

 

The Transition Specialist will be responsible for maintaining ongoing operations for a new biometric system by assisting with initial installation, setup, configuration, monitoring and support.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Supporting the creation and management of Training and Test environments
  • Creating repeatable maintenance procedures for biometric subsystems
  • Participating in transition planning and execution during system implementation process
  • Performing rectification of operational and system support documentation
  • Participating in 24x7 monitoring of biometric subsystem for proper performance
  • Participating in 24x7 troubleshooting, resolution, and support
  • Assisting in maintenance of the existing system by analyzing, designing and implementing changes to the system so the changes meet the specified requirements
  • Identifying project issues risks and participate in creation of risk mitigation plans
  • Creating assigned deliverables within established scope and timeframes
  • Working to make ad-hoc tasking repeatable and assist in establishing regular operational procedures
  • Providing weekly status to the relevant team leaders

 

Qualifications

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 3 years of Operations support work experience
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of systems delivery or Operations experience in lieu of a degree

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Development experience using Java or C++
  • Working knowledge of Unix-based commands and processes
  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux server and AIX (including installation, configuration and administration)
  • Experience with Oracle 10g RDBMS (SQLPlus, Enterprise Manager)
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, and Oracle database backup and recovery procedures
  • Experience in Storage Area Networks (SAN)
  • Experience in blade servers (e.g. blade center replacement parts).
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
